Our Boston Terrier, Nugget, was a pirate for Halloween this year. That pose is absolutely perfect. Haha!

Last night, we stepped outside with the Canon 5D mk II and Sigma 70-300 mm lens to capture the supermoon. The moon was not only the biggest, closest and brightest supermoon of this year; it’s the closest the moon has been to earth since January 26, 1948! 

“no one grows tired of the moon. it is cratered with imperfections, it has a dark side and it is all alone in a sea full of stars…” -unknown 

Here are a few captures from a family portrait session we did at Loose Park last weekend. Autumn is definitely our favorite season for outdoor photo shoots simply because of the gorgeous scenery (duh!) and it’s comfortable temperatures.  

FYI, Loose park is an amazing place to go for photography (or even just to hang out) if you live in the Kansas City area. It’s filled with flourishing rose gardens and willow tree covered bridges. Not to mention, it has a nice variety of scenes in one location…if you don’t mind walking a little bit. Needless to say, it’s one of our favorite spots in the city.
